Hands-on

Wrapped Up in Ancient Egypt

Kids in grades 5-8 and their adults spend the afternoon making jewelry, touching and smelling materials used in mummification, and making a “tomb-to-go.” You might even be chosen to be mummified! Expert Sarah Wisseman, who wrote all about our Spurlock mummy in the book The Virtual Mummy, will be around to answer questions. The Museum's collection of books and films on Egypt will also be available.

Registration is required and limited to 75 participants.

$5 per child. Every child must be accompanied by an responsible adult.
