Special Event

Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day 2008

The Spurlock Museum joins Smithsonian Magazine in its fourth annual Museum Day. During this event, museums and cultural institutions nationwide open their doors free of charge to Smithsonian magazine readers and Smithsonian.com visitors. Last year, nearly 100,000 people attended Museum Day. All 50 states plus Puerto Rico were represented by 651 participating museums.

Some of the participating institutions, like the Spurlock Museum, have daily free admission. To gain free entry to museums regularly charging admission, attendees must present Smithsonian magazine’s Museum Day Admission Card. The card is available in the September 2008 issue of Smithsonian magazine and from the Smithsonian.com website. A list of participating venues (external link) is available.
