Zahn Learning Center Open Hours: Percy Jackson book release party

Enhance your Spurlock Museum experience with hands-on activities in the Zahn Learning Center. During ZLC Open Hours (ZLC OH), visitors of all ages enjoy engaged learning through exhibit or cultural-related crafts, and access to teaching artifacts and books. $2 per crafter to cover materials. Weekend parking is free in non-metered, non-reserved spots in lot D 22, behind the Museum (enter lot on Oregon).

Rick Riordan’s "The Blood of Olympus" is out in a few days. Enthusiasts of the Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus series are invited to press a sculpey drachma (greek coin) from an artifact mold, make a book cover shrink plastic charm, assemble a shield, have their picture taken with "Percy", read the first chapter of the new book, and walk the height of Athena Parthenos (nearly 42 feet tall) who figures prominently in the new plotline.
