Why Knot Come and See?

In conjunction with the Campbell Gallery exhibit “Why Knot?,” the Spurlock Museum and the Champaign-Urbana Spinners and Weavers Guild present a day of fiberworking demonstrations and hands-on activities for the whole family.
“Why Knot?” is co-sponsored by the Champaign-Urbana Spinners and Weavers Guild and the Spurlock Museum Guild. It is sponsored in part by the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.

Lobby
bobbin lace, filet net, tape loom, cord and rope making, knitting, crocheting, tatting
Central Core Gallery
inkle loom, crocheting, triangle weaving, floor loom, carding/wool combing
Ancient Mediterranean Gallery
knitting, modern wheel, needle felting, rug hooking
Asian Gallery
kumihimo, macramé, lucet cord, tatting
Balcony
paper yarn
European Gallery
chain mail, friendship bracelets, string games, knots
Front Lawn (weather permitting) or African and Middle Eastern Gallery
color blending with a hackle, knitting, spinning (modern wheel, charka, drop spindle)
