Jails, Hospitals, and Hip-Hop is a one-man show with about nine different characters. Each character addresses a variety of social issues including: racial profiling; cultural misappropriation; disproportionate sentencing as a result of racism; racist stereotypes in the media; discrimination and intolerance in many forms; the reputation of the United States abroad; and the effect of Hip-Hop here and all over the world. Following the performance, the audience is invited to remain for an open discussion.
Museum visitors are reminded that food and drinks are not allowed in the Museum. Backpacks and other large items brought to the Museum will have to be stored; there is limited locker storage space available for these items.
