Talk: The Red Goddesses of Cahokia

Dr. Thomas E. Emerson, Illinois State Archaeologist and ISAS Director, will give a talk, The Red Goddesses of Cahokia, at the Spurlock Museum at 4:00 pm in the Knight Auditorium. Come early to the Museum and see the exhibit, Cahokia's Religion: The Art of Red Goddesses, Black Drink, and the Underworld. This exhibit was a collaboration between the Spurlock Museum and the Illinois State Archaeological Survey (ISAS). Dr. Emerson's talk will discuss the Cahokian figurines associated with the exhibit and their importance to our collective cultural understanding.
