Tony Palmer
Film Director

Tony Palmer will be speaking about the use of music in the films of Stanley Kubrick. Mr. Palmer's filmography of over 100 films ranges from early works with The Beatles, Cream, Jimi Hendrix and Frank Zappa, to famous portraits with and about Britten, Stravinsky, Shostakovich, Maria Callas, and John Adams. Over 40 international prizes for his work include 12 Gold Medals at the New York Film & Television Festival, as well as numerous EMMY Awards. He is the only person to have won the Prix Italia twice.

Two of Mr. Palmer's films will be screened in the School of Music Auditorium on November 6: "Testimony" (1987, featuring Ben Kingsley), about Shostakovich, at 7:30PM; and "All My Loving" (1968), with footage of Zappa, Hendrix, the Beatles, etc. at 11:00PM.

Doors will open at 4:00PM and will close at 4:50PM or when seating is no longer available. Museum visitors are reminded that food and drinks are not allowed in the Museum. Backpacks and other large items brought to the Museum will have to be stored; there is limited locker storage space available for these items.
