Zahn Learning Center Open Hours: Chinese New Year, Year of the Monkey!

Enhance your Spurlock Museum experience with activities in the Zahn Learning Center. During ZLC Open Hours (ZLC OH), visitors can enjoy exhibit or cultural-related crafts, and access to teaching artifacts and books. $2 per crafter to cover materials. Weekend parking is free in non-metered, non-reserved spots in lot D 22, behind the Museum (enter lot on Oregon).
Lunar new year revelers can enjoy a wide variety of crafts and activities to celebrate the year of the monkey, 2016. Learn about the animals in the chinese zodiac and the traits of each animal. Try your hand at painting a watercolor monkey, based on the traditional art form of Asian calligraphy. Decorate a red scroll using stickers and our Chinese character and zodiac rubber stamps. Have your fortune for the new year told by ZLC staff, and make a wish for 2016 by tossing a pipe-cleaner orange into our miniature cherry blossom tree. $2 per crafter; museum admission is free.
