Description | This Greek coin is a silver Drachm from Chalcis in Euboea in Greece. It was struck in the late 4th century BCE. The obverse is a profile of Hera, wife to Zeus and therefore queen of the gods. The reverse is a flying eagle with a snake in its talons. Above the eagle are the letters ΧΑΛ (Chi Alpha Lambda) denoting it is from Chalcis. |
