Research Remarks
Published Description | Rogers: A black obsidian seal about one and a fourth inches in length. This seal is not especially well done and perhaps does not belong in the Agadé period. Yet the general character of the work fits in better here than with any other type. The design is made up of one nude male, neither the features or the body are well drawn. Two rampant lions are flanked on either side by an animal standing on its haunches. The seal is divided by a line slightly resembling a weed, as there is an indication of roots and lines which might represent branches. Porada: An antelope being attacked by a lion which is crossed with a second antelope; the latter is being attacked by a second lion which a hero is grasping by the tail and menacing with a curved weapon. Terminal: A tree. |
