Program on the History of University of Illinois Musical Tradition
On November 16 at 4:00 pm, the Spurlock Museum will join with the University of Illinois Alumni Association to present Music at Illinois, a special program on popular music written especially for or about the University. Over the course of the past century and a half, students, alumni, and faculty created a number of musical traditions that bind link them together across generations. One of Illinois’ most enduring traditions is its music. This free program presented by retired Alumni Association vice president Joseph Rank is held in collaboration with the Spurlock Museum’s temporary exhibit Knowledge at Work: The University of Illinois at 150.
